In April, this site made $769.49 and in May, it made $625.69 by itself with Google Adsense. It’s an incredible number considering I don’t have to do anything to keep it going. (maybe link building every now and then)

Canliweb depends on RSS Feeds; it gets the content from various portals and posts the excerpt of the content with a link back to the original page. This way its not content stealing, but at the same time, building its own content from the excerpts.

Canliweb.com gets about 15k uniques/day, since google loves website that update alot. If you want to keep your blog on high rankings, you should always update it at least once a day!

I hope this will save me some time by not going through the spam comments lists checking for real comments.

Here are the unique visitors counts according the Extreme Counter visible on every page of Cherez.com:

We can actually see a pattern of oscillations in weekly visits forming a sinusoidal shape. One of the reasons could be the fact that Googlebot is actually trying to compare the search result pages to actual content pages and drives different traffic each day. Its still to early to form a proper conclusion.

Like I said in the first of the series, I am going to wait till the index count increases to somewhere around 2000. It should not take long since people do different variety of searches everyday on Cherez.com (which could be very, very nasty)

While checking the logs, I just noticed that two of the single post pages on Cherez.com ranks as number 1 for the search term “britney spears” on google.com.tr. Its above Britney Spears’ wikipedia page and the official site. I think I should congratulate myself for achieving that.

There are couple of steps that I follow while adding keywords to a post:

1. First of all, I search for high-volume high-traffic keywords in Google Suggest.
2. You need to check that every word in your long-tail keyword you just found is present in your article. You might want to change your article for this.
3. Never try to rank high for single keywords as this would be near-impossible for a single post unless it has hundreds of backlinks. You can see some research data at oneStat.com and rankStat.com.
4. Using the AutoMeta plugin, you can seperate words in a long tail keyword by using “-” between each word. So I want to use “Using keywords effectively” in my meta keywords tag, I would write “using-keywords-effectively” in the autometa field.

Here are the average number of words searched by people according to the above researches:

1. one word 14.4%
2. two words 30.1%
3. three words 27.1%
4. four words 15.6%
5. five words 7.3%
6. Over five words 5.5%

This means that 57% of the searches are done in either two words or three words. I personally do not recommend phrases of over 4 or 5 words because the search volume for any one phrase is so low.

Site traffic is monitored using Extreme Tracking, which is a very reliable service. Here are the unique visitor counts for last 20 days of Cherez.com. Also, when you are there, take a look around, because cherez.com is one of “THE most modified wordpress website ever“.

As you can see unique visitors are about 4000/day and currently, cherez.com has only 504 pages indexed in Google. That’s what I call Search Engine Optimization.

It might take a little time for google to index some of the searches, but I will try my best to decrease the time. I am hoping to double the traffic as the indexed pages in Google increases to somewhere around 2000.

Blogs have started as personal webpages and look where they are heading. Each and everyone of them are copycats of one another (Especially the designs done by Uniqueblogdesigns.com -thumbs up for wpdesigner). Everyone is filling their blogs with advertisements and text link sales as far as I can see. You can see a list of blogs who have got bitch-slapped by Google in dailyblogtips.com.

What did you think? The big G is going to let you market its pagerank system that is designed to give an heads-up for surfers? Why didn’t the Seomoz.org ’s blog get penalized? Guess what, they are not making money from their blog. I believe the era of “start making money online” has ended. It has been started by Johnchow.com and should end with him. You don’t have to monetize every bit of your website! No one should.

Will these blogs see a decrease in their blog traffics? No they won’t. Pagerank does not mean traffic or Google traffic. They will receive the same amount of traffic, but now the visitors will at least know that some of the articles they make are merely to make money. Keep that in mind while writing your next blog post.

Through trial and error, I have come to a conclusion that frames actually hurt the SEO potential of your site. Let’s say you have 2 frames on your page. It means the importance of the page is divided into two. For example, Googlebot will visit your main frame as frequently as your other frame possibly containing a menu or not-so-important data. Therefore do not use frames!

Well, that was just a random seo tip for you guys since the blogger navigation bar you see at the top is purely CSS . Therefore its not killing your site’s SEO potential as much as a frame, BUT the text at the top is what gets indexed at first. You want the search engine bots to read the main content at first. To do this:

- Log in to blogger

- On your Dashboard, select Layout. This will take you to the Template tab. Click Edit HTML. Under the Edit Template section you will see you blog’s HTML.

- On a usual html based page, you need paste the CSS code below between <style> … </style> tags. But in blogger, you need to paste the below code after <b:skin><![CDATA[/*

Blogger does not have this built in, so we are going to do a small tweak to accomplish that. Make sure you have selected a widget-ready template. There are couple of steps, so read the whole post carefully. Place the below code before the </head> html tag in your template. Its a small javascript.

Second step involves changing the post includables. If you do not have a widget-ready template, you will not be able to apply this step, since non-widget-ready templates do not have includables. To get to the post parte, where you will change the code, search for id=’post’. If you are unable to find it, you may not have expanded the template. Select the checkbox named “Expand Widget Templates“, which is right above the template code, to expand it into more code.

When you create a new post on your blogger blog, this will clearly show where to write your summary or excerpt, and rest of your post text. It is important to make sure that the /span tag above is at the end of the post. So before publishing your post, check the html source code and make sure that </span> is at the end of your post. The “Read more” link will appear only for the posts that have been divided like this.

Blogger Settings:

1. Title: Title of your blog, make it short and simple
2. Description: The description should include your keywords that you are aiming and should be a complete sentence.
3. Add your Blog to our listings?: YES
4. Show Email Post links?: NO; nobody uses them, they just lower your keyword density.
5. Send Pings: YES
6. Date Header Format: Choose the one with the less text, ex: “8.9.07″
7. Comments: Show, but delete the unrelated/short comments
8. Backlinks: Hide, no need to share your PageRank value, is there?
9. Enable Post Pages?: YES, so that each of your posts can attract different visitors
10. Archive Frequency: Weekly. Its better to have the least number of posts on a single page.

Although I have always told Wordpress users to increase their page rank value and the quality of seach engine optimization on their blogs, I highly encourage bloggers to share their link love with other bloggers. Other dofollow plugins like the ones from Semiologic & Kimmo Suominen, in my opinion, caused a new type of spam to erupt in the blog network. Even though many people do remove rel=”nofollow” in their links , you can not be sure if they are really intimate about sharing link love and deactivate the plugin later on.

Installation of Dofollow Trackbacks Plugin:

1. Download the source file: thb-dofollow-trackback.phps
2. Rename the file to thb-dofollow-trackback.php
3. Upload it to your plugins folder
4. Active the Dofollow Trackbacks Plugin on the plugin page

I came up with this “U Trackback I Follow” image to post it on your webpage and please include a link to this post to encourage more people to remove rel=”nofollow” in their trackback links. You can save the image by right clicking and selecting save image as. Its pretty small (97 * 97), so it can easily fit in your sidebar.
