I prefer submitting to paid directories to free directories, since they really do have more value in Google. Eventhough I was successful in submitting my websites to many directories, I was unable to get my listing up on Joeant.com

I chose “Turkey” category for my Turkish site, since thats most relevant one.  Joeant says “Guaranteed review within the next two business days. (One Time Fee – $39.99)“. After I paid using paypal, I waited a full week to get a response from them. I emailed them (I found staff@joeant.com in their Terms of Use page) asking about the status of my submission, but noone wrote back. I even looked up their listed email address in WHOIS search and emailed again, but I still got no answers.

Considering I have submitted two websites, Joeant.com owes me $80s. I will be emailing paypal to refund my money, but I don’t think I’ll get it. $80 is not a lot of money, especially if you are going to get a SCAM review on a blog.

Since I will be getting a listing with this post, I would like to say that the changing of the system is not fair for the ones who have already paid their $10.

Since most of the RSS directories “read” your RSS feed, I always try to add my blog to reach my target of 100 subscribers. I am somewhere around 75 right now, and every single RSS reader counts :) . You can also get a free link if you make it to their top 100 RSS page.

You need to register first and then make a post about rssHugger. You can then add your blog in your control panel once you login.

EDIT: I have just checked their news and this is what I found: “I will manually be reviewing every entry before it is included in the site. If you have recently purchased the previous $10 registration fee, you can also email me your Paypal payment ID and I will gladly refund your payment after the blog review is up.” I guess they know about the unfair part as well. So If your blog got listed at rssHugger for $10, make sure you ask it back.

Since every individual is checked by the trusted OpenID foundation, every user link is trusted and therefore contains no rel=”nofollow”. You can get free backlinks by posting on forums or commenting on high PR blog posts!

You can get your open id in variety of sites like I want my OpenID and ClaimID. Once you get your open id, lets say it is turkhitbox. You login by using turkhitbox.iwantmyopenid.com. The whole service is free so you don’t have to pay anything.

You can get a whole list of sites using OpenID on The OpenID Directory or on My OpenID Directory. Don’t forget to check the html source code for nofollows. Some sites on the list have not removed rel=”nofollow”. And when choosing the subdirectory, pay attention to the amount of links that subcategory has. I would recommend a subcategory of Page Rank value of 2 with 3 links to a subcategory of Page Rank value of 4 with 30 links. Submitting to all of the above directories will cost you no more than $40. Thats the amount you pay for a dinner in a nice restaurant or a t-shirt @ abercrombie. You can buy more that if you can get your website/blog to the top of the search engines.
