Eventhough this is a “Ramblings” blog, I never actually made an off-topic post and since I am selling my car, I wanted to give it a shot. I bought this 2006 Audi A3 in January 2006, a year before I started this blog. I bought it for around €32,000. The car has 1.6L FSI which produces 115bhp. The car came with ambition package (sport package), bi-xenon headlights and Bose sound systems. Over the course of two years, I modified the car to my liking. But most importantly, I started the Turkish Audi Club, TurboFSI.net when I bought the car. My car became the first project car, attracting more people to the forums. Well this is another story so I will talk about it at some other post.
Here is the how everything started. The stock car:

Here are the modifications I made:
- K&N Air Filter
- Black front grille & S3 side mirrors
- Dension Ipod Kit
- Eibach 5cm Sport Springs
- 18” Privatz Nets Forged Wheels
- 225/40/18 Pirelli P-zero Rosso Assimetrico
- Neuspeed Engine Torque Mount
- Wimmer-rst chip tuning
- Medium tint on all windows.
- Sline Front bumper
- Votex hatch spoiler and sides
The result and the new car replacing it after the jump…

I really loved how it turned out, but something was lacking for me to enjoy it fully. It just wasn’t fast enough. After all the modifications I was able to make it 125 bhp. Although it is relatively quick compared to the usual cars you see around Istanbul streets (mostly 1.4 or 1.6 liter cars), it is actually far away from being a fast car.
So I decided to buy a 1.8 TFSI 170bhp Audi A5. I fell in love the second I saw her at the dealer. It has a truly gorgeous external & internal design! I ordered it in white, having spent countless hours cleaning my black Audi A3. The car is on order right now with these options:
- Triptronic
- Multifunction steering wheel with DSG paddles
- Bang & Olufsen Sound System
- S-Line package (Leather inside & sportier suspension)
- Heated & automatic folding side mirrors
- Colored Drive computer
I really wanted to order the Navigation package for visual purposes, but since it is useless in Turkey and make a difference of €5,000 in the final price, I had to leave it. Luckily there is a huge list of standard accessories for the Audi A5 including the Bi-Xenon Headlights. Usually, you should be paying about $50,000 for a car like this in the United States, but here we have very harsh taxes. The price I got was a whooping €71,000 before the dealer discount. I could have bought an Audi R8 for that price in the US. Here is a photo of a white Audi A5 for your viewing pleasure:

and these are the Sline Seats:

I have to wait 3 months before the car arrives; hopefully I will get more discounts when the car arrives. I wonder if I should host a “Who has the nicest car?” contest among bloggers. I sure know John Chow is not beating me with his 2003 Acura RSX! :)

Do you make all those money from u'r blog? then it'll be fun that I started blogging recently — means that I'll at least own an A3 in the following months!! : ))
No ofcourse I don't : ) I don't even make enough money to buy a Honda Civic from this blog. It's usually from my other websites.
Either way, this goes to show one can make some decent living out of 'the internet' – the wilderness some think for a loss of time.
TurkHitBox, I know what it's like with the taxes and all the bull…, I'm from Bulgaria and it's quite a similar picture here too.
That's why I turn to the internet for making money. ;)
I think you are so tallented making money through Internet. How many websites actually you have?..I think I get interested to do such business seriously.
Those rims on the Audi A3 make a huggee difference, I love it.
That is quite an upgrade but yes for 71000 EUR you could have got an R8 in the states. Couldn’t have got the car somewhere else and shipped it in? BTW that’s a gorgeous vehicle.
Have you seen the latest RS5 impression? It looks really nice: http://www.audifocus.com/2008/07/24/audi-rs5-impression/
I have seen the latest RS5 impression it is well slick and cool, nice one!!!
Nice view pictures .I think I get interested to do such business seriously., this goes to show one can make some decent living out of ‘the internet’.. is it true :)
Wow, ur A3 is looking mint. I love the wheel and suspension combo!! So is that the eibach sportline kit 50/40??

I like your modified A3. I have an A3 myself 2.0 TDi (S-line bumper also)
Those audis are fanfrickintastic. I really like mine. Hope you got a good price for it (a year ago and then some)
With an A3 looking that good plus all those modifications, it would surely fetch a good price in the market!
